SEO metadata checker

Paste a URL. We extract the title, meta description, canonical, Open Graph, Twitter card, and JSON-LD blocks, then grade what is missing or off.

Why this matters

Metadata is the only SEO surface that earns clicks without anyone visiting your site.

A better title moves CTR. A better meta description moves CTR. A better Open Graph image moves social referral. All without one extra visitor needed.

Title tag length

50–60 characters fit Google's display width. Past 65 you risk truncation; below 25 you sound generic.

Meta description

140–160 characters. Treat it as an ad: specific benefit, then proof, then action. Generic descriptions kill CTR.

Canonical link

Every indexable page should declare its canonical URL — otherwise duplicates eat your ranking.

One H1 per page

Multiple H1s confuse the topical signal. One H1 that names the page's primary topic is the cleanest signal.

Open Graph

og:title + og:description + og:image render the social preview. Missing og:image makes shares look bare.

JSON-LD

Structured data turns prose into facts. Organization, WebSite, Article, FAQPage, Product — each enables a specific rich result.

Frequently asked questions

What does this tool actually check?
Title length, meta description length, canonical link tag, H1 count, Open Graph tags, Twitter card tags, and JSON-LD structured data blocks. Each gets a green/yellow/red verdict with a one-line reason.
Why is this a separate tool from the full audit?
Metadata is the highest-leverage and lowest-effort layer of SEO. We split it out so you can fix titles and descriptions in an afternoon without running the full eight-lens audit. The full audit on the home page covers everything else.
Will you fix the metadata for me?
No — this is a diagnostic. The output tells you what is missing or off, and each row links to the guide explaining how to fix it. The full paid report includes per-issue fix recommendations.
Does this work on pages that need JavaScript to render?
We fetch the raw HTML. Tags injected after JavaScript executes will not be visible to this tool (or to most AI crawlers either). If your metadata is JS-rendered, fix that first — server-render metadata so crawlers see it.

Metadata is one lens. Run all eight.

The full audit covers crawlability, technical SEO, content clarity, AI readability, entities, schema, and internal linking too.
